News: Jordan Fisher Announces He Will Return to "Dear Evan Hansen"

Jordan Fisher has announced that he will return in “Dear Evan Hansen” in the titular role when the musical returns to Broadway on December 11. Fisher made the announcement on June 1 during his performance of “You Will Be Found” on Good Morning America.

The performance served as a reunion for several of the show’s stars, including Jessica Phillips (who took on the role of Evan's mom Heidi prior to the shutdown), Christiane Noll (Cynthia Murphy), Gabrielle Carrubba (Zoe Murphy), Jared Goldsmith (Jared Kleinman), and Phoebe Koyabe (Alana Beck), according a Playbill announcement. Fisher also announced that each cast member would be joining him back on stage when the production opens this winter, and gave a brief glimpse into their first rehearsal.

Fisher has previously taken on the role, and was staring in the production when Broadway shut down last March. The role was originated by Ben Platt, who will return as the titular character in the film adaptation when it released in theaters on September 24.
